Workshop: breath - rhythm - drawing
Sunday's workshop will deal with drawing in connection with physicality, perception of physical and mental processes. We will explore how we can represent our own physical experience and how we perceive others through drawing. We will take as our starting point the work of the participating artists and their work on display in the exhibition. The workshop will include a gentle movement experience (adapted to the capabilities of the participants).
Beginning at 2pm, expected end at 5pm.
Thank you all very much for your participation!

Inge Kosková (*1940)
The Olomouc painter, draughtswoman and teacher began her drawing career with large-scale figurative compositions. She was interested in human figures both in their interaction (wrestlers, dancers, burial) and in their static sculpture. Over time, the figurative drawings took the form of trees made from human hands and landscapes made from human bodies. From the mid-1980s onwards, she worked her way to the essential theme of her work, which is the experience of the body and rhythm. She completely abandoned representation by imitation and concentrated on authentically capturing an intimate experience. Watching their drawings, even our own imaginations dance.
Jahou Baul (Jana Houzarová) (*1972)
A designer and therapist by profession, working with intuitive drawing. She treats this medium as a means of exploring the inner workings of her clients. Although this is not the goal, she ends up creating works of unplanned aesthetic quality.
In the exhibition Partial Drawing of the Ring, we see a set of drawings by Jana Houzarová that is a record of her gradual discovery of her gift for capturing the inner processes and attunements of people or situations through drawing.
All the portraits were created gradually over a period of about thirty years, when she deepened this ability and used it as a therapeutic method. In this exhibition we have the opportunity to look into these private records, which portray people close or distant to her, as well as those publicly known and sometimes not living.
Marie Štindlová (*1990)
Artist, educator and shiatsu therapist. In her practice she deals with the manifestation of poetry in its various forms. She explores the possibilities of language in the context of physicality and experience. She searches for its limits, for breakthroughs. Outside of text, she works with the media of drawing, painting, installation and situation.
She is part of the collective Comunite Fresca (together with Dana Balážová and Markéta Filipová). Together they shaped the form of the exhibition and created a mural with Kryštof Netolický. Its basis was a mural workshop for the public. In the next phase, CF and Kryštof Netolický completed the mural, which is based on the atmosphere of the works by Alt, Brodská and Kosková as well as the composition developed by the children during the workshop.
